2023 is the Great Southern Football Leagues Centenary Year.
The League – then called the Great Southern Football Association was made up from Clubs based in Encounter Bay, Goolwa, Hindmarsh Valley, Port Elliott and Victor Harbor, was formed in May after a meeting called in April – 1923.
Before that there were many groups of individuals who played football matches against each other without going through the formalities of forming associations, or indeed in some cases, not even forming clubs!
The Victor Harbor Club was to be Premiers in that first season.
If you would like to celebrate the Centenary and welcome inaugural inductees into the newly formed Great Southern Football League Hall of Fame then it is not to late to purchase tickets to an event to be held at Adelaide Oval on the 26th of February with tickets available on Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/great-southern-footall-league-hall-of-fame-and-centenary-season-celebration-tickets
